Mr Syed Zulfiqar Gardezi assumed duties as the Deputy High Commissioner for Pakistan to the United Kingdom in March 2012.
Mr Gardezi has been in the Pakistan diplomatic service for over 22 years. Before taking up his current assignment, he was the Deputy High Commissioner in New Delhi. He previously served in the Pakistan Embassy, Washington and High Commission for Pakistan, London.
In the Foreign Ministry Mr Gardezi has dealt with Pakistan’s relations with western countries including the US and the UK as well as multilateral institutions like the European Union and the Commonwealth.
Mr Gardezi obtained a Masters degree in English Literature from Government College Lahore. He has also attended post-graduate diplomatic studies course at the University of Oxford. He is married to Laila Gardezi.
